Al Asayel Street goes to 80 km/h from 1 November, and Al Mustaqbal to 70

Two of the roads that carry Riviera's traffic towards the city change their speed limits on 1 November 2026, in a five-road revision announced by the Roads and Transport Authority with Dubai Police.

Up

Al Asayel Street, from Oud Metha Street to Al Meydan Street: 60 to 80 km/h. Al Mustaqbal Street, from Sheikh Rashid Road to Al Meydan Street: 60 to 70 km/h. Latifa bint Hamdan Street, from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Khail Road: 60 to 70 km/h.

Down

Al Rebat Street: 100 to 90 km/h. Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street: 80 to 70 km/h.

Why these two matter here

Al Asayel and Al Mustaqbal are the two streets that join Al Meydan Street, the road along the north edge of MBR City, to Business Bay and Downtown. They are the route most Riviera residents take to the office. The RTA says the revisions follow studies of traffic flow and road geometry on each stretch; the enforcement cameras take the new limits from the same date.

The limit that counts on the morning run is still the one on Al Meydan Street itself, which has not changed, and the eighty on Al Asayel only applies as far as the junction with it. The practical gain is in the evening, outbound, when Al Asayel from Oud Metha is clear and the old sixty felt like a camera trap; it now matches the road. Al Rebat's drop to ninety is the one to remember on the airport run, because the camera there used to tolerate a hundred.
