The Dubai Shopping Festival is the city's oldest festival, older than most of the city around Riviera. The 32nd edition runs 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, 45 days, organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment.
What it is
Retail promotions in every mall, nightly fireworks at several sites, concerts, markets and the raffles that were the festival's original draw. The events calendar is published through December on the Visit Dubai page.
What is new
The Beach Canteen, the festival's food market on the sand, opens a first edition at Nessnass Beach in Jumeirah, alongside its usual site, according to the announcement reported on 15 October.
For Riviera
The festival does not come to MBR City; its sites are the malls, the beaches and the creek. What it brings to Riviera is traffic on Al Khail Road on weekend evenings and full restaurants at Meydan, and it overlaps the whole of the Meydan racing season's December and January fixtures.
DSF's practical value for a resident is the dates, not the discounts: the promotions are the same ones the malls run anyway, concentrated. The 45 days are the city's peak, with the Christmas and New Year weeks inside them, and anything that needs booking — a restaurant on the creek, a table at the racecourse, a car hire for visiting family — is booked before 4 December. The one thing to go to is the fireworks on the opening weekend and on New Year's Eve, and the one thing to avoid is driving to them.
