Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and RaceME marks it the way Dubai does most things outdoors from October onwards: early, by the sea, and in fancy dress. The Halloween Run is a short community run on West Beach, on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, with distances small enough for a child in a costume.
Distances and start times
Three distances, started five minutes apart on Saturday 31 October 2026: the 5km at 8:30am, the 3km at 8:35am and the 1km at 8:40am. Race packs are collected at West Beach on the morning, from 6:30 to 8:30am — the 6:30 that Visit Dubai lists is the pack desk opening, not the start.
Entry fees
AED 75 for the 1km, AED 85 for the 3km and AED 99 for the 5km. A family entry at AED 250 covers four runners — two adults and two children — at any of the three distances. Entries are taken on Race Roster.
The costume prizes
Prize-giving is at 9:30am, and the trophies go to costumes rather than times, in five categories: Scariest Costume, Scariest Little Monster, Most Creative Group Costume, Best Couple Costume and Funniest Costume. Finishers collect a medal, and there is coffee and breakfast from vendors at the beach.
Getting there
Parking at West Beach is paid. The run falls on the first morning of Dubai Fitness Challenge, so for anyone at Azizi Riviera planning to do the thirty days properly, it is a fairly painless first day of thirty.
The family entry is cheaper than it looks. Four separate 1km entries come to AED 300 and four 5km entries to AED 396, so at AED 250 it saves money at every distance — but it does not solve the clock. The 5km sets off ten minutes before the 1km, so a parent running the 5km cannot also walk a small child round the 1km; with two adults, one runs and one walks, and both are back for the costume trophies at half past nine, which is the part the children will remember.
